About Me

I’m Chris Canfield, a Boise born and raised actor, director, teacher, and producer. I love helping others find their authentic voice on stage.

I am The Nomadic Actor – I believe that theater can happen anywhere, and I use that to my advantage in my coaching and teaching.

I founded The Boise Bard Players with this idea in mind. BBP has performed Shakespeare in backyards, breweries, and many more, transforming each locale in the imaginations of the audience and performers.

I’ve been a theater teacher at every level: drama camp, public school, and university, and there’s nowhere that theater cannot happen authentically.

Stage fright is the leading fear in the world, behind death and spiders. I’m here to not only stop your stage fright, but to actively use it to fuel your voice – authentically.

I specialize in making Shakespeare accessible to modern ears, I can help you make your pitch, nail your audition, train your voice, and help you feel confident doing it!
